Guide: First steps

There are a lot of germination methods. We chose a simple, economic and effective one.

01

Wash your hands before manipulating the seeds. It protects them from a potential contamination.

02

Take a plate and put above it two layers of paper towel. They must be well dampened (really important !) with water at room temperature. Put the seed on it.

04

Take a second plate, turn it over and place it above the first one. This will create kind of a darkroom and it will seem like the seed is underground.

05

Place everything on a radiator not too hot. Ideal temperature is between 20 and 23 Celsius degree. You can place it as well in a mini heating greenhouse, if you are not on a budget.
Note that the paper towel must always keep damp !

06

After two or three days, the seed will open itself and the germ will get out. Put the seed at 10mm underground, then cover it with earth and press down a bit. Nature will do the rest.
You can wait one or two days more before putting your seed in earth, so every germ will get out. Plantation will homogenize from the start.
